  • 2004 Yamaha SUV Rig Set up Inquiry/ Open letter to Handyman.

    New to the Forum

Glad I found you fellas. I just bought a 2004 SUV and I want to set it up for off shore fishing. There are two pre-fab options.

1.) is the set up of $795
2.) Is I got in touch with the folks who did Jet-Ski Brians set up (front bar w/rear cooler and rod holder) $1,000

Both are Uninstalled but can be shipped

I had a local shop quote me $1800 just to emulate the rear piping as shown (Ouch!)

Then I saw Handyman's install for his SUV and then his list of how much everything can be done for. At this point my head is on a swivel and I don't know what to go with. I have a total budget of around $1200. and I need my PWC ready to go by late June. Unfortunately I am overseas right now and I am having to do so much of this through phone-calls and the internet.

Any advice or shops you fellas with experience with the SUV have would be appreciated.

At this point I am leaning towards just initally starting with the Front set up like Jet/Ski Brian-Martins structures. This makes sense to me as eventually I want to start pulling an Extractor sled "Conquest Model" for longer trips out. http://extractorsled.drupalgardens.c...?itok=4XHv3qH5 .

As I said before anything you fellas have to contribute will be hugely appreciated and would love to go out with anyone who is in the Florida Panhandle area as I am a novice to the sport.

    Thank you for your time.

    Welcome to the forum.
It looks like you are on the right track. The Fishmaster and the jetskibrian setups both look like good choices to go with at reasonable prices. I have also heard of some people finding some cooler racks on amazon but I have not seen any of them.
